A Park for Everyone

Discovery Park is a bold and imaginative signature destination that serves as a dynamic community anchor and one of Aurora’s most distinctive new public spaces. At 24 acres, the park is an everyday invitation to explore, gather, play, and discover something new. Its diverse landscape and amenities include layers of native tallgrass prairie that unfolds across the site, leading to views of the park and ascending to upper landforms that reveal panoramic vistas of the Colorado Rockies.

A future beer garden, with ample shaded seating, is located adjacent to the dog park, creating a social gathering space for both people and their four-legged companions. A variety of play environments offers something for different ages, abilities, and play preferences. Nature-play areas encourage creativity and exploration, while accessible play features and adventure elements, including climbing walls and bouldering, provide opportunities for challenge and discovery. Together, these spaces create an inclusive play environment that welcomes visitors with cognitive and mobility challenges.

A formal parterre strolling garden features more than 7,000 pollinator-friendly plants, supporting local pollinators while creating a rich and varied sensory experience, particularly for visitors with visual impairments. Throughout the park, gathering areas with fire pits provide places for year-round socializing and warmth. Multi-sport courts accommodate pickleball, basketball, tennis, and sand volleyball, offering opportunities for both casual recreation and organized play. The park is further anchored by a future Community Center featuring a resort-style pool experience, adding another destination for recreation, relaxation, and community gathering.
